Please help us to raise funds
Every year we plan sets of projects and activities in specific areas of Kenya. In order to deliver those projects we are dependent on service providers locally in Kenya at the point of delivery. We need to raise funds in order to support these activities. Here are our current project objectives.
To relieve poverty and sickness, preserve, and protect good health and advance education for the public benefit for people in remote village in Kisumu Western Kenya.
Volunteers provide a great deal of support to Change Africa Foundation's Orphanage and Home/Community Centre,in Kisumu Western Kenya. Volunteers covers the following areas:
Assisting the orphans, street kids, homeless, sick children in Kisumu area. Volunteers help to provide care, education and give the children the love and comfort they are longing for.
Volunteers also aim to increase awareness and educate the Orphanage Home/Community Centre in all areas relating to HIV/AIDS. They also provide support with youth issues in lessons and activities. Volunteers assist in teaching English by acting as an asssitant to the teacher.
Video Clip from Change Africa Foundation in Kenya
The following video is from Kisumu in Kenya featuring the newly acquired orphanage building in 2009. It highlights the challenges faced in building and creating the facility.
Change Africa Foundation urgently needs your support for these young children. We wish to redevelop this house into a children’s home and community centre. Through your donations this will enable Change Africa Foundation to develop and furnish the kitchen, bathrooms, toilet, and bedrooms. A donation of £7 will purchase one bag of cement, we need 40 bags to repair twenty rooms. Steel for the infrastructure costs £3, we need sixty pieces, sand is £20 a tonne, things like furniture and bedding costs from as little as £5. Please support us, every donation no matter how small makes a difference.
Please note that the reference to the website at the end of the video is to our former website which is no longer active.
Elizabeth Francis says; "Over the past ten years I have personally adopted four Kisumu orphan children. I purchased and donated a twenty-room building located on the shores of Lake Victoria to the Change Africa Foundation. It is my ambition to develop this building into a fully-equipped childrens home / community centre. These children have been left orphanned and homeless by the death of their parents due to HIV, AIDS and other horific diseases. I spend a lot of my time in Kenya doing what I can, my ambition is to lay a new foundation for both these children and the community. We based our targets on delivering love, food and an education for these children. Most importantly, we know that their greatest need is a place for them to call home."
From James Jairo Oderah.
Exercise Coordinator locally in Kenya.
"We take this opportunity on behalf of the Community and Schools in Siaya District to express our sincere appreciation for finding the pleasure in addressing the academic needs and requirements for our Children, through donation of story books covering varied areas of learning and grades of education vis a vis grades 1,2 and 3.
The act of kindness and positive consideration of our challenges children will go a long way in setting up the steeping stones towards academic transformation and achievement within our academic Institutions. The books were donated equally to needy Schools namely: Apuoyo Primary School, Orombe Primary School, Kogelo Primary School, Mama Sarah Obama Children Library and Wangoji Primary School. The books will play an integral part in complementing the library Program in these Schools and improve a reading culture for our Children especially during the School holidays and weekends.
We thank you once again and your passionate Team from Kisumu County led by Collins who accompanied our Team during the donation exercise."
